Bento Board · last updated: 18 September 2026
What Bento does with your photos
When you import a photo, Bento makes a copy of it in its own folder on your device, so that your board stays intact even if you delete the original from your library. That copy never leaves the device.
When you export a board, the image goes where you send it: your photo library, or the app you choose in the iOS share sheet. Bento never sends it anywhere on its own.
The permissions Bento asks for, and why
- Photo library access — to import the photos you pick. Bento only reads those.
- Adding to the photo library — to save an exported board there, when you ask it to.
Both are triggered by an explicit action on your part. Declining them does not prevent you from using the rest of the app.
What Bento does not do
- No account, no sign-in
- No analytics, no crash reporting
- No advertising, no ad trackers
- No uploading of your photos, texts or projects
- No sharing with third parties, since there is nothing to share
Your data, and deleting it
Everything Bento keeps sits in its folder on your device. Deleting a project in the app erases its photos and content. Uninstalling Bento erases everything. No copy exists anywhere else: I therefore have no way of accessing your data, and no reason to.
Children
Bento is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, children included.
If this policy changes
Any change will appear on this page, with its date. Should a future version of Bento ever collect anything, it would be announced here before release.
